Dear Students,
Our Department, agreed to the establishment of a department in 1992 within Sakarya University the student recruitment was in the academic year 2005-2006. Night education was opened in 2007-2008. M.Sc. program started in the 2006-2007, while the Ph.D. program started in the 2009-2010 academic year. The department gave its first graduates in the 2008-2009 academic year.
Our department is available in 4 different main branches of science botany, general biology, zoology, and Molecular Biology. Trained in different areas of expertise of the department's 10 faculty members and 8 research assistants, it is a young and dynamic team who continue their academic studies. Their top level research faculty members of our trained professionals with existing research laboratories in the related fields continues to evolve in parallel with technology. Constantly increases the number of publications in international and national journals including SCI primarily engages our faculty and many successful projects. Undergraduate and graduate students have a chance to work in research laboratories throughout the thesis.
Biology undergraduate students, double major success during the training facilities are also provided. Our undergraduate and graduate students can benefit exchange of students between higher education institutions both from abroad and within the country such as Erasmus, Farabi and Mevlana programs

Biological sciences are one of the most important areas of basic science that provide the greatest contribution to solving the mystery of life. Therefore, should start a bachelor life to understand the biology you can see the importance of science education. Trained as biologists who have a bachelor's degree program learn knowledge, skills, competencies and qualifications basic concepts and theories related to life sciences in the Department of Biology student. The students who successfully completed program can apply for a M. Sc. or Ph.D. degree in biology or science fields accepting students from other disciplines. Also our graduates are finding the opportunity to work of public institutions (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning, Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, TÜBİTAK, Atomic Energy Authority, Minister of Environment, Sea Science research Institute), research institutes, natural history in museums, botanical gardens, arboretum, in special classrooms and laboratories, treatment facilities, zoos, production and aquaculture in pharmaceutical factories and business facilities .
